Start with signal, not inspiration
Most creators wait for inspiration from their own feed. By that time, the trend is already visible to everyone in the niche. Better research starts with early signals: new comment volume, repeated questions, fast-rising Reddit threads, YouTube search momentum, and creator posts that are getting saved faster than normal.
Separate topic from angle
A topic tells you what people are discussing. An angle tells you why your version should be watched. If the topic is budget travel, the angle could be first-time travelers, couples, students, or hidden mistakes. The fastest posts usually win because the angle is sharper, not because the topic is new.
Move from research to script fast
Research should end with a usable content brief: the hook, the viewer pain, the proof, the main points, and the call to action. When the brief is ready, the script becomes a short execution task instead of a blank-page struggle.
